Have you ever wondered why the people who seem to be the most interested in homosexuality are Republicans? Why they are so afraid?
Why do they put so much energy into hating people they do not even know?
Here’s some good points to ponder…

While it seems pretty obvious that some Old Testament “Prophets” were bigots and that some of Jesus’ own “disciples” were also bigots, which is natural since they were members of that religion defined by the OT bigots they held to be “representing God” (the God Loves Me but thinks You Suck God) but I can’t seem to recall Jesus being a bigot.
I do recall Jesus being rebuked by his own religious leaders (remember the ones he called hypocrites?) for his unbiased ways.
I do recall a lot of complaints about Jesus not following the “rules” of the Old Testament.
I also notice that those who would drag out the Old Testament to rebuke their neighbors today, pick and choose which OT rules they want to enforce.
I think that if you want to embrace the OT that is your prerogative, but you are a hypocrite if you only embrace the portions that support your position and reject the rest of what you claim to be God’s DEFINITIVE WORD.
I don’t know what other people do when they are confronted with Jesus rebellious ideas about everyone being loved by God equally (well except religious hypocrites - he seemed to despise them) and Jesus promoting tolerance and kindness to all, but I know what happened in his day - for those who don’t recall, his church got together and had him killed.
For me, I tend to believe that the OT is propaganda literature and while some of it has value to me, I do not give any of it the force of Law or God’s word.
Jesus, (remember him?) said there is only ONE LAW (though he followed and said the 2nd is “like unto it” or basically the same, and by my view he was simply telling us how to obey the ONE LAW which is done by living the 2nd) (Matthew 7:12) and that ALL the teachings of the prophets (the one’s Jesus believed to be legitimate prophets anyway) and ALL THE LAW (that Jesus believed to be THE LAW apparently) were derived from and sustained and were sustained by that ONE LAW.
Now, I am of the opinion that anyone who is claiming to be a “believer”, “follower”, “disciple” or what ever of Jesus (remember Jesus) including all “Christians” and I guess even “Muslims” claim Jesus too, and of course I have to include Mormons (who want us all to believe they are the “premier” Christians even) pretty much spit in Jesus face and brand themselves “liars and hypocrites” when they shit on what Jesus said was the ONE LAW.
Especially they do so when they favor one or two lines of OT rules, even when enunciated by a modern (in Jesus day) preacher (like NT “supposed” authors) and in the process take a giant crap on Jesus just so they can justify their fear and attendant bigotry.
Well, this just pisses me off and makes me want to jump right in with Jesus and call them liars and hypocrites and suggest that they don’t know God, in spite of their constant claims to know Him best. Those claims to me are (um…how do you say it….BULLSHIT!)
I say, Believe Jesus.
Fuck them other guys - they don’t know crap about God or how to be good and they blaspheme the name of Jesus every time they “Praise the Lord” so falsely and stupidly.
Jesus said (I paraphrase for those with either succinct or those with limited attention and/or understanding) “Don’t be a DICK!
And I add; Just because you have one (or know how to strap one on) does not mean you are obligated to be one (or justified if you try).
Someday people are going to have to realize that Jesus was right and that those who preceded him and those who followed him for the most part DO NOT agree with him.
Very likely the preacher you pay does not BELIEVE JESUS and preaches, Paul or Zenos or someone else instead and pretend they represent Jesus (for the money) with their own bigotry, fear and bullshit.
Believe Jesus!
He is not that hard to figure out.
Jesus only believed in ONE FUCKING LAW.
Any atheist, buddhist, baptist, muslim, lutheran, mormon, (any other brand of christian) satanist, pagan or whatever can easily agree with Jesus and jump on board with him without having to pay a dime or change their religious “label”.
