I am Reverend Dr. Gregory Lowrey. AKA Doc Loco (or Doc to my friends).
I am a Healer, Counselor, Artist, Musician, Poet, Philosopher, Philanthropist, Social Activist, Author and CEO of Whole Life Ministries - a Golden Rule based non-profit Ministry and Charity.
I was born in 1954 in Burlington, Iowa and grew up primarily in Omaha, Nebraska and Detroit, Michigan.
I raised 6 children with my fabulous and beautiful wife and business partner since 1984, Kita Kazoo.
Kita and I were both raised by Mormon converts.
We became TBM’s (True Believing Mormons) and spent many years following and being abused by religion, including 15 years in Mormon Fundamentalism (yup Polygamy).
Since we lived to tell the tale regarding our religious experiences, many of which we feel we have benefited from tremendously we now feel inclined to help others cope with the damage that we feel most religions engender.
One of the most damaging yet nearly universal tenets of religion is denial of self in favor of following some man or woman who seeks to interpose between the individual and what they perceive to be their spiritual center. (God if you will)
Kita and I founded the original People For Peace in Detroit, Michigan in 1985 where I was the main architect of the plan that ended the “cold war”. I have been involved in community service and charity work ever since.
I currently volunteer as CEO of Whole Life Ministries (since 2002) and perform healing and counseling services as well as operating a ministry art school specializing in body arts and serving as a community activist and other services.
We are currently operate Happy Valley Tattoo (Utah) a service division of Whole Life Ministries and are opening a new Detroit, Michigan ministry office and studio during 2008. (We previously founded, operated and in 2000 sold Royal Oak Tattoo in Metro Detroit after moving to Utah in 199
I began my music career at age 7 as a drummer and played rock drums in several bands from 1967 (age 13 - Uncle Ned’s Goofy Grapefruit Band - Detroit, Michigan) to 1981 (Dr. Loco & the Holy City Howlers - Salt Lake City, Utah).
I took up guitar and songwriting when I was 27 while living in Hollywood, California after the breakup of my band The Fact.
I postponed further writing and performing while I focused on feeding and housing my kids and working in the ministry, and now I am resuming where I left off back then publishing and performing my original R&B music in addition to my ministry services, while Kazoo takes up movie-making in addition to teaching and performing art services.
A current project is an Association of Body Art Professionals, setting standards in training, ethics, hygiene and promoting industry self-regulation. This service is soon to be promoted to artists who may set up state chapters and municipalities and governments to replace current inappropriate and unconstitutional laws and regulations based on misinformation and personal bias.
Many current Body Art laws result from cheap and lazy politicians who invent a false threat, attacking an ignorant and unorganized community of artists in order to win an election on a “save the children” campaign, fear-mongering their way into office - the jerks!
In fact most of the “save the children” campaigns (a Utah favorite) are based on misinformation and pander to the unjustified fears of an ignorant public, perpetrated by jerk politicians who have no actual merits to be elected on so rely on fear-mongering instead. I kind of hate em’. (Don’t tell Jesus, ok?)
I am also an unaffilliated “write-in” candidate for President of the United States of America in the 2008 election.
If you want a candidate who hasn’t “sold out” before he even got started, um….I’m your guy…well, also Mickey Mouse and Santa - but they if elected won’t serve and I will!
This page has the following sub pages.
Glad to see the papers have picked up on your story of religious discrimination, and the religious bigotry of the local theocracy. I am sure you will prevail in your cases, and truly hope that you are compensated fairly for your trouble.
Best,
Your Mason Friend

Hey thanks Richard.
I appreciate your confidence in us.
Make sure I get to say hi next time you drop in.
Doc
Although I’m thrilled that Barack Obama will likely easily win in November, I think you’d get my vote over McCain, and I’m an atheist.
