Who is Kita Kazoo?
January 17, 2008 by Kita Kazoo
Kita is short for Katrina. My husband of 23 years, Doc came up it. It is a combination of Katrina and ”Kitten” which my father nicknamed me when I was little.
Kazoo, (Ka-trina’s-zoo) comes from my love of animals and children. Doc and I have 6 grown children, 5 daughters and a son, 6 grandchildren and have had a large menagerie of pets over the years.
I have a gypsy spirit. My egg was created in New Orleans, fertilized in California, hatched in Pennsylvania. I was raised in York, Pennsylvania, the New Jersey country side and in the Baltimore suburbs, ending my teen years in the Detroit Metro area. I have also lived in New Mexico, California, Texas, Oregon, Utah and Arizona and in that order.
Right now I travel back and forth, between Utah, the most conservative state in the U.S. & Michigan which is the most liberal. It is a lot of fun to be traveling across country several times a year, but most of all I appreciate seeing my grandchildren who live in New Mexico, Utah & Michigan.
I was raised in the Mormon church, but left about 5 years ago. I am still in the recovery process. Being raised Mormon taught me a lot about life that I do not feel I would have gotten else where. I was fully committed to living Mormonism to the best of my ability when I was one, but I am much happier now without it.
I am an artist and minister who does derma-graphic affirmations (visit my online portfolio here) & published writer. In addition to being one of the authors, I am responsible for most of the graphics and organization on this blog.
I am very interested in spirituality, sociology, history, law, politics and current events and how they all interact with each other. In my free time I like to paint, read and watch movies. My newest hobby is making video shorts.
